What We Do

If you want to communicate effectively in our fast-changing world, telling stories using digital technology is no longer an option. It’s now an essential part of doing business.

In a few short years, content marketing has become the standard way for nonprofits, government agencies and small businesses to engage with their customers, advocates and constituents. With local newspapers and TV news programs fast losing staff and audiences, you now have the tools and techniques at your disposal to become your own publisher and broadcaster — without the filter of traditional media.

But telling stories isn’t easy. It takes the right words and images to inspire action. And you have but a moment to catch the attention of readers and viewers with riveting stories. 

That’s where Digital Storyline comes in. 

We are experienced journalists and communications experts who specialize in generating compelling content to help you become your own “newspaper” or “news channel.” 

Our team can develop content on your behalf or consult and train you to find, tell and promote your organization’s stories. 

We will either produce or teach you to produce stories, photographs, and videos spotlighting your services. We’ll either deliver or show you how to deliver a continuous flow of storytelling content posted on your website, your e-newsletter, your social media and your blog so it can build loyalty, thought leadership, and your brand’s business growth.

Our Story

It all started in the 2008 financial meltdown – the year newspapers, magazines, and TV news programs began shedding staff that had long dominated coverage of local businesses, nonprofits and government agencies. 

That exodus included our founder – veteran journalist Leon Fooksman – who created a new type of media company based on his expertise from decades in the news business.  

Digital Storyline formed to fill the need for quality storytelling for clients who depended on mainstream media’s advertising-supported business model whose audiences migrated to online sources. 

From the start, we set out to work with leading nonprofit and government agencies as well small businesses pursuing innovative solutions to social problems. We made social entrepreneurs a core part of our mission along with delivering high-quality content services that focuses on “covering” our clients’ work, industries, and issues.  

Today, our clients rely on us to cut through marketing noise, build solid thought-leadership platforms, bring traffic to their websites and social media pages, and ultimately attract new customers, donors and supporters. 

Over the years, this is what we’ve learned: there is no better or more affordable way to market your products, services and programs than through telling compelling personal, professional and community stories about your successes, expertise and challenges.
